From DaviesJH2 at cardiff.ac.uk Wed Jun 8 06:01:08 2016 From: DaviesJH2 at cardiff.ac.uk (Huw Davies) Date: Tue, 7 Jun 2016 20:01:08 +0000 Subject: [Geodynamics] EGU Geodynamics Division Medals/Awards, June 15 deadline Message-ID: <254FB796-7509-4AD6-B484-AB1429086781@cardiff.ac.uk> [cid:part1.03040503.08060108 at ign.ku.dk] Dear colleagues, The EGU is now accepting nominations for the EGU awards with the absolute deadline June 15, 2016. For the Geodynamics community the awards are: (1) The Augustus Love medal of the Geodynamics Division, aimed at mid-career (that is non-retired) distinguished scientists in the field of geodynamics, comprising mantle and core convection, tectonophysics, post-glacial rebound and earth rotation. (2) The GD Division Outstanding Young Scientist Award, which recognizes scientific achievements in the field of Geodynamics, made by an early career scientist ( <7 post-PhD years). The Division awardee competes for one out of four interdivision EGU Arne Richter Awards for Outstanding Young Scientists. (3) The Arthur Holmes Medal is one of the most prestigious EGU awards and is reserved for scientists who have achieved exceptional international standing in Solid Earth Geosciences, defined in their widest senses, for their merit and their scientific achievements. Please take a moment to think of colleagues that deserve recognition of their scientific contributions! Additionally, EGU medals can also significantly support the career of a colleague. Nomination packages are not demanding at all. Please find details on: http://www.egu.eu/awards-medals/proposal-and-selection-of-candidates/ and http://www.egu.eu/awards-medals/awards-and-medals.html Thank you in advance for your help and support!
