Dear ASA members,

The Australian Institute of Physics (AIP) will hold its biennial Congress at the University of Sydney from 7–11 December 2026. The Congress will be collocated with the Australian and New Zealand Conference on Optics and Photonics (ANZCOP), and this year’s congress will also include an astronomy component. The program will feature plenary sessions alongside a range of parallel and focused sessions spanning physics, optics and photonics, and astronomy.

The call for abstracts for parallel and focused sessions is now open via the Congress Indico page<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/tB_dCGv0oyC0mNjrDUKf4UBR-CH?domain=indico.global>. Please note that submission requires an Indico account. The deadline for abstract submissions is 26 June 2026. For further information and upcoming registration check out the Congress website<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/aC2wCJyBrGf1RW0k6hGhoUyroK1?domain=aip.org.au>.

We encourage you to submit an abstract and to share this opportunity with your colleagues.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Congress.

On behalf of Congress Organisers,
Manisha Caleb

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land I work on, the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation, and I pay my respects to their elders, past and present. I would like to acknowledge Indigenous Astronomers as Australia's first Astronomers.
I work across a number of time zones and I have sent this email at a time that suits me. Feel free to read, act on or respond at a time that works for you.
