Hi all,

A reminder that ANITA steering committee nominations close at midnight tonight.

As it wasn't clear from the original email: self-nominations are welcomed. Please email your nomination, along with a few lines indicating your interest in the position, to Patrick Clearwater.

The ANITA steering committee requires representation across all career levels. I would like to take this opportunity to particularly encourage faculty to consider nominating for positions on the steering committee.

Subject: ANITA Chapter elections: Steering committee members and steering committee chair nominations due 18 May

Hi all,

This is the first announcement that nominations for the 2026 ANITA Steering Committee are now open. Nominations will be open for the next two weeks, until 18 May.

We are currently seeking

  *
Three ordinary steering committee members (2 year term)
  *
One student member (1 year term)

All chapter members are encouraged to nominate. If more than one nomination for each position is received we will hold elections beginning 19 May. If you would like to nominate for one of these positions, please email our returning officer Patrick Clearwater (in cc) clearly indicating your preferred position.

Nominations for the next steering committee chair are also open. This is a two-year term and would be best suited to someone who is familiar with ANITA and has had a good level of involvement in the chapter over the past few years. If you would like to nominate as SC chair, please email a short paragraph describing your interest in leading the chapter to Patrick Clearwater (as above). If there are more than one nomination for chair, we will hold elections at the same time as the steering committee members.

Current SC members are welcome to re-nominate, or nominate for ANITA SC chair. We especially welcome SC nominations from EMCRs and we value geographic diversity in our membership base. The current SC membership can be found on the ANITA website.
