Most ASA members will have received notices reminding you that your membership of the ASA is due for renewal on 1 January (and at a discounted rate if paid by the end of February).
One feature of this notice each year is the suggestion to donate to the ASA's tax-deductible Foundation, the Foundation for the Advancement of Astronomy (FAA). A notice describing the FAA and the activities it supports is attached. Please read it and consider if you can help the ASA sustain these activities by making a donation.
The purposes of the FAA are broadly defined to allow the support of prizes, scholarships, research and facilities. Funds are limited, but suggestions for other activities it might support are welcome.
Best wishes for a productive 2026.
John
