Dear All,
The AAL/eROSITA_DE Management Committee is pleased to announce the following workshop;
At the 858th WE-Heraeus Seminar, “Galactic Frontiers 2026: Advancing X-ray Astronomy in a Multiwavelength Universe”,
astronomers from Germany and around the world will come together to discuss the latest breakthroughs in the X-ray
exploration of Galactic sources.
>From June 15–18, 2026, leading experts in high-energy and multiwavelength astronomy will meet at the Physics Center in
Bad Honnef (Germany) to shape the future of Galactic X-ray research. Organized by eRO-STEP PIs Werner Becker (MPE)
and Manami Sasaki (FAU), and funded by the Heraeus Foundation, the conference will unite researchers working with both
recent missions—such as eROSITA and XRISM—and long-standing X-ray observatories like XMM-Newton and Chandra.
The scientific program will span the full Galactic X-ray ecosystem: from large-scale diffuse emission and spectacular
supernova remnants to compact objects such as black holes and neutron stars. A special emphasis will be placed
on the evolving multiwavelength landscape, highlighting the key role of X-ray observations from radio to gamma-ray
energies.
