Title: SKA: A global telescope and the role of ECAs

Speaker: Prof. Naomi McClure-Griffiths (ANU and SKAO)

Abstract: The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) is one of the world's most ambitious scientific projects: a global radio telescope spanning two continents, designed to advance our understanding of the Universe, from the formation of the first stars and galaxies to the nature of gravity and magnetic fields, and the search for life. With construction now underway in Australia and South Africa, the SKA is also redefining how international science is organised, drawing on the expertise of thousands of scientists and engineers worldwide. This talk will provide an overview of the SKA, highlight its key science goals, and discuss how Early Career Astronomers (ECAs can engage with and contribute to the future of this global observatory.
