[ASA] APRIM 2026: Hong Kong 4-8 May

Dear ASA members,

You are cordially invited to attend the 2026 Asia-Pacific Regional IAU Meeting<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/kWR_CjZ1N7iRJZ49OhWf3sm9kkB?domain=aprim2026.org> (APRIM 2026), which will take place in Hong Kong from May 4 to May 8, 2026. The venue for this meeting is the iconic Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), located in the vibrant city of Hong Kong.

Held every three years, APRIM is a major regional scientific meeting of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and second only to the IAU General Assembly in scale and scope. APRIM is a key platform for astronomers, space scientists and related stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to engage in collaboration, share latest scientific findings, network and discuss pressing and major questions that advance the frontiers of astronomy, astrophysics and space science.

APRIM 2026 is being organised by Prof Quentin Parker, Director of the Laboratory for Space Research at HKU (and well known to many ASA members!) and will feature an excellent array of Australian and international plenary and invited speakers.

Science sessions will cover the following:


  1.  Astronomy Public Outreach and Education
  2.  Galaxies, AGN and the High Redshift Universe
  3.  High Energy Astrophysics
  4.  Gravitational Wave Astronomy
  5.  The Life Cycle of Stars and Their Planets
  6.  Radio, mm and Sub-mm Astronomy
  7.  Astronomical Surveys and Time Domain Astronomy
  8.  Upcoming Astronomical Facilities
  9.  Space Sustainability.

Important dates are:


  *   October 1, 2025 – Open for Abstract Submission and Registration
  *   December 5, 2025 – Abstract Deadline
  *   February 25, 2026 – Deadline for Early Registration
  *   March 15, 2026 – Deadline for VISA Assistance
  *   May 4, 2026 – Meeting Starts
