Dear ASA members,

Today we are happy to release the long-awaited ASA Membership Survey.

The health and effectiveness of your Society depends on effective communication and management. Although there is frequent communication between the ASA Council and the membership, it is a number of years since members have been asked explicitly for their views on the Society, its activities and governance. Hence, we have devised the current survey. We have taken all efforts to be succinct and as short as possible, while still gathering important information and, most importantly, giving you, the members, the opportunity to provide opinions and feedback on all aspects of the ASA’s activities.

The survey is now open and will close at midnight on Sunday June 8.

The link to the survey is here<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/lE9eCyojxQTLJKPXlsZfGfxBsov?domain=surveymonkey.com>. It should not take more than 15 minutes to complete. It can be saved and resumed as long as you are using the same computer and the same browser window with cookies enabled.

A curated summary of the survey results will be prepared by the ASA Council and then made available to all ASA members.

Several measures are in place to ensure your anonymity and to ensure objectivity in the reporting:

  * The survey is designed, hosted, and analysed by an external third party, HR Analytics Australia.
  * Directly identifiable data (e.g. name, date of birth, email address etc) are not collected.
  * Some indirectly identifiable data are collected (e.g. year of birth, gender) but these will always be aggregated so that an individual's results are never examined, compiled, or reported in a way that could identify them. These data will be summarised, removed, or obfuscated before any reports or data are provided to the ASA by HR Analytics Australia.
  * Aggregated groups will only be reported if they contain a minimum of 5 people.
  * Answering every item will help us create a richer report, but you will often have the option of 'Prefer not to say'.

Please note that some items are compulsory and are marked with an *. This aids survey branching so that you are only presented with items relevant to you.

We urge you to complete the survey. It is your Society and this is an important part of ensuring that it caters to the needs of its Members.

Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts.

Kind regards,

Stas Shabala, President, on behalf of the ASA Council
