Dear astronomy community,

I'm pleased to let you know that the Astronomy Decadal Plan 2026-2035 exposure draft is ready for community circulation, and can be found at this link:

https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/SHLJC3QNPBiR4nDzGSgf9SQn5Vm?domain=drive.google.com

We have had an incredible decade, and this DP outlines the astronomy community's discoveries, achievements and contributions. We look to the future and set priorities to retain Australia's international leadership in astronomy, to maximise astronomy's contribution to Australian industry and society, and to continue building respectful connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander astronomers and astronomy.

This draft has been written by the DP editorial board comprising myself as chair, Sarah Brough (deputy), Tamara Davis, Michael Ireland, Chris Power and Cathryn Trott. The document is based on the DP white papers and town hall discussions and has been reviewed by NCA and the Academy of Science. I would like to sincerely thank the working groups and chairs, NCA, the Academy of Science especially Swasti Devi, and the editorial board members for their work over the past 6-12 months. White papers will be available on the NCA DP 2026-2035 website.

I will be travelling around the country to present the decadal plan throughout February - the schedule is below. All of the sessions will also be available online to ensure maximum accessibility to this part of the process. The roadshow is supported by CSIRO and the Australian Academy of Science.
