Dear Everyone,

The IDEA Chapter Steering Committee is excited to announce the opening of the next round of the Pleiades Awards!

The 2025 Pleiades Awards applications officially open on 4th November 2024, with a submission deadline by midnight (AWST) on Thursday, 13th February 2025. Results will be announced at the end of May 2025.

For more information on the awards, instructions on how to apply, and important dates, please visit the IDEA Chapter website<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/oFJjCzvkyVCmmkEKgT4f2H9sBv-?domain=asa-idea.org>.

We note that the IDEA Chapter has conducted a review of the Pleiades Awards criteria based on community feedback, resulting in revisions to the application documents. Additionally, the timelines for the 2025 Pleiades Award application process<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/9x7ACANpgjC11wBj6u8hDHGqhzx?domain=asa-idea.org/> have been established with consideration for the work-life balance of the ASA community. Key dates are set to minimize conflicts across institutions, taking into account significant dates from teaching semesters, school holidays, the Easter break, ARC due dates, and major astronomical facility due dates, among others.

The IDEA Chapter Steering Committee will soon hold up to two Community Consultation sessions regarding the Pleiades Applications. These sessions are designed for Heads of Institutions/Schools participating in the Pleiades Awards, EDI Chairs from participating institutions/schools, and ASA members. Participants will receive an introduction to the Pleiades Awards and have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the application process. The sessions will be chaired by members of the IDEA Chapter Steering Committee, with more details on the schedules to follow. Stay tuned!

Please feel free to send any clarifications and/or questions to: asa.ideastronomy at gmail.com<mailto:asa.ideastronomy at gmail.com>.

Thank you for engaging with the ASA-IDEA Chapter

Kind regards,
Devika Kamath
Chair, IDEA Chapter Steering Committee
