[ASA] CARTA showcase WebEx invitation

Dear ASA community,

The Australia SKA Regional Centre (AusSRC) would like to invite you to join us online for the attached showcase event for CARTA, the Cube Analysis and Rendering Tool for Astronomy. While the registration for presenting or attending in person has now closed, you may join us online via WebEx.

We will be meeting from 9am-12:30pm AWST (see agenda attached). Below is the link we’ll be using on the day, and attached is the calendar event with additional WebEx info.

A final reminder to sign up for the AusSRC CARTA showcase, before we close the registration on 1 October, 2024.

On Tuesday October 8th, the week after the <https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/F-KdCyojxQT687K9qcQipFxt1M6?domain=atnf.csiro.au> Radio School<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/F-KdCyojxQT687K9qcQipFxt1M6?domain=atnf.csiro.au>, the Australian SKA Regional Centre (AusSRC) is holding a showcase event for CARTA, the Cube Analysis and Rendering Tool for Astronomy, in hybrid format via WebEx, and in the CSIRO Auditorium of the ARRC building in Perth. CARTA is a next-generation image visualisation and analysis software tool that is scalable to big data in the era of the SKA and its precursors. It’s a very mature, feature-rich tool that is intuitive and user friendly, so it’s easy to learn via trial and error.

This showcase event is an opportunity to meet the developers, see the latest features and roadmap, and present your use cases and workflows. We're inviting contributions from the ASA community to demonstrate how they use CARTA, or want to use CARTA, or even how they use another visualisation tool, such as DS9 or Kvis, and would like to be able to do in CARTA.

I believe this community is already pushing the boundaries when it comes to visualising their data, and that we will be driving a lot of the future requirements going forward, making this kind of engagement strategic for both parties.
