Dear colleagues,

The terms of several members of the steering committee of the Group for Astroparticle Physics (GAP) are ending this year, including the position of the AIP co-chair (currently, Celine Boehm).

We hereby seek nominations to join the GAP steering committee.  We aim to fill

* one regular position on the steering committee,

* two postgraduate student members (one each from the AIP, and the ASA),

* the AIP co-chair.

Self-nominations are most welcome.  In order to ensure that the steering committee is representative of our community, we particularly welcome nominations from groups that are currently under-represented on the
committee, listed at our website below:

We are seeking nominations from both ASA and AIP members, and aim for a balance between the two. Membership in either of these is required and sufficient to join the steering committee.  For the position of the AIP co-chair, however, AIP membership is required.

GAP is the first overarching chapter of AIP and ASA.  It is currently run jointly by two co-chairs, one as “ASA” co-chair (Mark Krumholz) and one as “AIP” co-chair - for which we seek a new nomination.

The GAP has been active with dedicated sessions at the  AIP Congress (Adelaide, Dec. 2022), AIP Summer Meeting (Canberra, Dec 2023) and in supporting the  ANITA Worksop and School (Adelaide, Feb 2023). Further events/sessions are planned for 2024.

If the number of nominations (including re-nominations of current committee members) exceeds the number of available slots, we will hold elections in the second half of March.

Please clearly indicate your nomination as either “postgraduate student position”,  “ordinary position”, or as “AIP co-chair”, and, clarify your membership of the ASA and/or AIP.

Please send us your nominations by March 15.
