[ASA] Time Domain Astronomy - how to join the chapter

Dear ASA members,

It is now possible to sign up to be part of the Time Domain Astronomy (TDA) Chapter of the ASA! ASA Chapters can be viewed here: https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/RUONCXLW2mU4ED22Yc66M7X?domain=asa.astronomy.org.au

 We strongly encourage any ASA member with an interest in time domain astronomy (exoplanets, stellar transients, GW follow-up, asteroids, quasars, relativistic particles, etc.) and in any capacity (theory, observation, instrumentation and data and computing) to sign up to the TDA chapter.

Instructions on how to join the TDA Chapter can be found at the above link, and are reiterated here:
Follow these instructions to become a member of any of the ASA Chapters:


  1.  ‘Sign in’ via the link at the top right of any ASA web page
  2.  Login to your ASA Membership portal with your email address and password
  3.  Click ‘Edit Profile’
  4.  Scroll down to ‘Group Membership’
  5.  Select the Chapters you wish to be a member of
  6.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click ‘Save’
  7.  Log out at the top right banner of the web page

 Once we have had a number of people sign up, the TDA Chapter Founding Committee will solicit nominations from the TDA Chapter (self-nominations are encouraged) to fill positions of the TDA Steering Committee, with the following positions available for filling:


  *   Chair
  *   Deputy-chair
  *   General members (4; nominally 3)
  *   Early Career member (1)
  *   HDR student member (1)
  *   See charter<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Q1SACYW8NocDVpMMxcGKf0i?domain=asa.astronomy.org.au> for details (immediate past-chair position not applicable).

Nominations process: more information will be provided to TDA Chapter members through the TDA exploder once the TDA membership is more firmly established.
