Dear all,
A reminder that abstract submissions for the ACAMAR 9 conference close this
Friday 2 June. If you are intending to submit an abstract, please do so via
the conference website <https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/v8QkC91WPRTzrNyy6coUTFI?domain=astronomyaus.eventsair.com> .
We're excited to have received a very enthusiastic response to in-person
attendance at the conference. This means we have nearly reached our
in-person capacity so have paused in-person registration while we
investigate options for increasing capacity. If you would like to attend in
person, we encourage you to join the waitlist (same registration link - see
here <https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/TuvpC0YKPvikYgOO9FD0qMj?domain=astronomyaus.eventsair.com> -
and select 'In person registration - WAITLIST').
We would particularly like to encourage attendees from eastern Australia to
take the opportunity to attend this Workshop in person and network with west
coast Australia and Chinese colleagues.
For any questions, please reach out to the ACAMAR 9 LOC:
ACAMAR9 at astronomyaustralia.org.au <mailto:ACAMAR9 at astronomyaustralia.org.au>
Kind regards,
Kate
On behalf of the ACAMAR 9 LOC

Subject: [ASA] ACAMAR 9 Workshop: 31 July - 2 August 2023
Dear all,
Save the date! The ACAMAR 9 Workshop will be held from 31 July - 2 August
2023 at The Vines Resort, Swan Valley <https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/PyMICjZ1N7iYZGLLwu7tVnt?domain=vines.com.au> in
Western Australia.
The primary aim of this workshop is to bring together members of the
Australian and Chinese astronomy communities to discuss all areas of
astronomical collaboration between Australian and China, with the main
themes being:
* Fast Radio Bursts, Pulsars and Gravitational Waves
* Galactic astronomy
* Facilities (including SKA, ASKAP, MWA, FAST and Antarctic astronomy)
* Time-domain astronomy
* Galaxies and Cosmology
* Machine Learning, Virtual Observatories and Big Data Challenges
This will be the first time the two communities have been able to meet in
person for several years due to COVID-19 travel restrictions and
participants are therefore encouraged to attend in person wherever possible.
However, for those unable to attend, there will be an option to join
virtually.
The ACAMAR Gas in Galaxies workshop is being held in Perth from 25 - 28
July, and the MWA Project Meeting, commemorating 10 years of MWA Operations,
is also being held in Perth from 25 - 28 July. ACAMAR 9 attendees may wish
to extend their stay to participate in these workshops, however it is
advised that separate accommodation should be booked as they are not located
in close proximity to ACAMAR 9.
Further details coming soon...
Shona, on behalf of the SOC and LOC
