[ASA] Introducing the Emerging Leaders in Astronomy Software Development Prize

[ASA Early Career Researchers Chapter]

Dear ASA members,

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new ASA Prize, which will be awarded for the first time at the 2023 ASA Annual Scientific Meeting. We have teamed up with the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) to establish the Emerging Leaders in Australian Software Development Prize, sponsored by the ARDC.

In short, this prize recognises the efforts of people who have made integral contributions to the development of software that is becoming an integral part of cutting-edge astronomical research. The Prize will be awarded on an annual basis, with an AU$1500 award. The prize is now open for nominations with a closing date of Wednesday 15 February 2023.
 
Submissions should be emailed to the ASA Prizes and Awards Coordinator, Tanya Hill: thill at museum.vic.gov.au
 
All nominations received will be acknowledged with a confirmation email. If a confirmation email is not received within 2 business days, please contact the Prizes and Awards Coordinator.
