Hi all,

This is a reminder to register (and submit contributions) for the ATUC meeting coming up in November. We have extended the abstract submission deadline to 17:00 AWST 14th October 2022 to allow more time for contributions, and we would greatly appreciate the distribution of this notification among your relevant communities. General registration will remain open until 17:00 AWST 31st October 2022.

We strongly encourage submissions for either oral presentations or sparklers - we are keen to ensure that the Science Day captures the broad range of interests and expertise within the ATNF community to inform future ATNF technological developments. Contributions do not need to be deeply advanced in their planning, we also welcome ideas, concepts and science drivers.

Look forward to engaging with you in November,
Vanessa
On behalf of ATNF / ATUC

Subject: ATUC Science & Open Day: 8-10 November 2022

Dear Users of the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF),

The Australia Telescope Users Committee (ATUC) meets regularly to discuss issues that impact users of the ATNF. The next ATUC meeting will be held in hybrid format (including an in-person mode in Marsfield) on 8th-10th November 2022.

On the 8th, ATUC will host a Science Day with the theme of "ATNF Science and Technology", focused on prospects for future ATNF technology developments and associated science drivers. We encourage attendees to share ideas about possible upgrades, technologies, and emerging science cases by submitting an abstract for possible inclusion in the Science Day program. We plan to accommodate short contributed talks and ‘sparkler’ presentations, and use these to prompt cross-disciplinary discussion that can trigger future ATNF developments. On the 9th, an Open Session will be held that consists of updates and discussions on the various aspects of ATNF facilities.

All are welcome to register to attend the Science Day and Open Session. Registration for ATUC and abstract submission for the Science Day is available using the link below:

https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/swM4Cvl1rKiWwmj4phQgl-G?domain=forms.gle

Abstract submission for the Science Day will remain open until 17:00 AWST 11th October 2022, and general registration for ATUC will close at 17:00 AWST 31st October 2022.

An agenda for both days, with details for hybrid participation, will be made available to registered attendees closer to the event.

If you, as a user (or potential user) of the ATNF, are aware of any issues that need to be raised at the next ATUC meeting, or would like to offer feedback on ATNF activities and facilities, please contact any member of ATUC over the next few weeks.

Information on ATUC and how to contact its members can be found at:

Regards,
Vanessa Moss
