I’m managing the rebuild of a website for the Australian Research Data
Commons <https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/XGlCCYW8NocLZmmW3s05cNe?domain=ardc.edu.au> (ARDC), a federally funded digital research
infrastructure provider established under the National Collaborative
Research Infrastructure Strategy to provide Australian researchers with
competitive advantage through data. We provide data management services and
support to all Australian-based researchers.
We’re building a new website so Australian-based researchers can easily
find research data tools, resources, best practices, training, news and
events.
In order to address the needs of researchers, we’re seeking representatives
from all disciplines and all career levels to help us with website user
research and prototype testing. Knowledge of the ARDC and extensive
research data management experience are not required.
*I'm particularly interested in securing some astronomists because of the
huge volume of research data they have to manage, which is why I'm reaching
out to your society. *I want to make sure we cater to the specific research
data challenges your researchers face.
We’re seeking your help to share our registration form
<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/_hbYCZY1Nqi5RAAqMFjUfSb?domain=digital8-review.typeform.com> with your researcher
membership. The following are links to existing social media posts for
sharing:

-
LinkedIn

To help us better understand researchers’ needs, we’re looking for 14
researchers across disciplines and career stages to join our website user
experience (UX) cohort.
-
one-hour interview, virtual or in person depending on your location
-
possibility of prototype testing
-
$100 Woolworths Wish gift card provided for the selected participants
-
great opportunity to skill up on your science communication by working
with a professional web development team.

"...it’s a human story that builds to a climax and it’s personal from end
to end.
You start out wondering why you bought those blue pajamas and later you’re
wondering why you were born. You go from the foolishly absurd to the deadly
serious and you’ve passed through the gaudy and the nasty along the way.
You get to the edge and you’re played out and you wonder where’s the good
news? Isn’t there supposed to be good news?"
