Dear ASA members,

Thank you to everyone who has signed up for the ASA Mentoring Program so
far! This is just a gentle reminder to register if you have not yet done so
- registration will close at COB on the 2nd of June. Details of the program
are repeated below:

We are pleased to announce the 2021 ASA Mentoring Program for early-career
researchers, and are looking for both mentors and mentees to participate.
Everyone is welcome, from undergraduate students to professors.

The program will comprise 2 parts:

1. A "Speed Meet-A-Mentor" event, which will be held on Wednesday the 7th
of July, in the week before the ASA 2021 Annual Meeting. During the
1.5-hour event, mentees will be randomly matched with mentors for a series
of brief video chats, to give mentees the chance to connect with mentors
and hear some wisdom from more experienced members of the community.

2. A long-term mentoring program, which will commence after the Speed
Meet-A-Mentor event. Mentees will be matched with a mentor of their choice
(where possible), and will meet with them throughout the year as per a
schedule to be decided between the mentor and mentee.

To sign up, please fill out this form: https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/azWFCJyBrGfq1q7mkCVwylL?domain=forms.gle

All mentors who have signed up for either part of the program will
attend a short
training seminar prior to the Speed Meet-A-Mentor event held on Wednesday
the 30th of June. The seminar will involve a discussion and Q&A on how to
be a good mentor with a panel of experienced mentors selected from
volunteers in the community.

Further details about both events will be sent out closer to the date.
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions.

Regards,

The ASA ECR Steering Committee
