[ASA] ASTRO 3D Postdoctoral Research Associate

Applications are invited for a 3-year ASTRO 3D Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The research associate will conduct research at Swinburne University of Technology<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/AHMwCVAGXPtWXWyGUGh3ZO?domain=astronomy.swin.edu.au> within the Galaxy Evolution Project of ASTRO 3D<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/n4ZnCWLJY7iMxMqJSxXDzP?domain=astro3d.org.au>. The research will involve observational studies of the high-redshift intergalactic/circumgalactic medium using large optical/near-IR telescopes. Specific research outcomes arising from this appointment include the analysis and publication of data from a European Southern Observatory Large Project on high redshift quasars together with international collaborators. Measuring the evolution of metals across the history of the Universe is a key outcome for ASTRO 3D. The research will be in collaboration with A/Prof Emma Ryan-Weber. The appointee will be supported in their career development and encouraged to conduct independent research and work collaboratively within the ASTRO 3D Galaxy Evolution Project, including with Prof Kim-Vy Tran (UNSW), Prof Lisa Kewley (ANU), Prof Karl Glazebrook and Prof Darren Croton and other staff within the Centre of Astrophysics and Supercomputing.
