Dear Colleagues,

This is the first announcement for the Mount Stromlo Student Seminars 2019, a two day-conference held on 28-29 November this year, at Mount Stromlo Observatory in Canberra.

The seminars are for all students (late undergrad to PhD inclusive) who are undertaking research in astronomy, astrophysics, or related areas. They are designed to be a relaxed environment in which students can practise public speaking skills (talks slots are available), network with peers (and future colleague), and hear from invited speakers about a range of topics.

Registration for the seminars is free, and includes a conference dinner on Thursday 28th. Limited travel funding is also available to attendees located outside of Canberra.

Registration and abstract submission is open now at http://www.mso.anu.edu.au/xmas19, and is due by 1 November. Please visit our website for more details; or for further enquiries, please email studentseminars.2019 at mso.anu.edu.au .
Attached is a poster promoting the seminars; please feel free to pass this onto anyone you feel may be interested.

Best regards,

Lara Cullinane
on behalf of the LOC
