Dear all,
Applications are now open for the 2019 Santa Barbara Gaia Sprint <https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Nj3aCBNZwLigGJBACzBZEM?domain=gaia.lol>!
The idea behind the Gaia Sprints <https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Nj3aCBNZwLigGJBACzBZEM?domain=gaia.lol> is to bring together people who have an interest in timely scientific investigation and use of the Gaia Data. These are not traditional scientific meetings; they are intended to facilitate completion of first scientific papers. The Sprints are structured to support collaborative refinement and execution of (fairly) mature scientific ideas. It is hoped that new partnerships will form and lead to co-authored publications for the scientific literature ready or near-ready by the end of each Sprint.
Previous Gaia Sprints (and satellite events) have been extremely successful, and over-subscribed. Please be aware that the 2019 Santa Barbara Gaia Sprint will be small (~40 participants) and therefore is also likely to be over-subscribed.
Applications will remain nominally open until 2018 December 10th. Looking forward to seeing you in Santa Barbara!
Cheers,
Andy
