[ASA] Second Announcement and Abstract Deadline extension: E&F White Conference 2018 on Gas-Solid Reactions

Dear Colleagues,

I am emailing to remind you about the Elizabeth and Frederick White Conference 2018 - Frontiers in Gas-Solid Processes from the Atomic Scale to the Parsec.

It will be held at the Australian National University in Canberra from 5-7 September 2018. This conference covers the role of gas mixtures in distributing chemical elements, modifying materials and transferring heat from the atomic through parsec scales. Advances in understanding gas-solid reactions form a basis for improving removal of greenhouse gases from Earth's atmosphere, enhancing models of volcanic processes, aiding ore deposit exploration, and probing planet-forming regions beyond our solar system.

Abstracts are due on 1 August 2018. Abstract submission details are available on the website.

Travel scholarships are available for Honours or Masters students, please see the website for more details.

Attached is a poster regarding the conference. Please pass this along to colleagues/students who might be interested.

The program includes:

  *   Fundamental processes in gas-solid interactions
  *   Planets and stars
  *   Volcanoes and the Earth's Crust
  *   CO2 sequestration
  *   Gas-solid interactions in solar thermal and manufacturing
  *   Early career workshop and future research planning

The public lecture will be given by Professor Klaus Lackner from Arizona State University.
