To address a lunation imbalance in oversubscription rates, the AAO is making a special call for proposals to use the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT) in semester 2018A. While proposals using any lunation are allowed in this special call, we particularly encourage submissions that can make use of bright time.

Information about the available instruments can be found at this link: https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/1RkoBZs4gJkWuE?domain=aao.gov.au

Please note the AAO is planning maintenance on the 2dF fibre cable and on HERMES in Semester 18A. Both the 2dF-fed AAOmega and HERMES will be unavailable from February to May 2018. The estimated schedule for this work is: 8 February to 23 May for HERMES and 12 February to 6 May for the 2dF positioner. Other instruments that use AAOmega but not the 2dF fibre feed (e.g. SAMI, KOALA) will still be available during this period.

Proposals should follow the standard guidelines for content and formatting as outlined in the web link above, and must be submitted through the AAO proposal system, Lens: https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/V81oBdUEMNmZC9?domain=aao.gov.au

Observers who applied for AAT time at the recent AAO call for proposals may apply for more time.

The deadline is 5:00pm AEDT Wednesday 18th October.
