[ASA] Reminder: Applications due 10th Feb 2016 for AAL GMT SAC position.

Dear ASA members,

 

This is a reminder that applications for the position representing Australia
on the Giant Magellan Telescope Science Advisory Committee are due on
Wednesday 10th Feb 2016.

 

Please note that there has been a change to the meeting schedule for 2016.
The GMT SAC meets three times a year in-person, usually in the USA, and
three times a year via teleconference. The first meeting will be on the 6th
- 8th April 2016, in Pasadena, California.

Dear ASA members,

 

Astronomy Australia Ltd is seeking applications for a position representing
Australia on the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) Science Advisory Committee
(SAC). 

 

The Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) is a next generation optical/infra-red
telescope, and will have the resolving power of a 24.5 metre primary mirror.
AAL is a founding member of GMTO Corporation and is entitled to nominate an
astronomer to the GMT SAC. Applications to the AAL GMT SAC position are
welcome from Australian-based astronomers with an active and successful
research career of direct relevance to the GMT.

 

Applications close at 9am AEDT Wednesday 10th February 2016. Further details
