The working group on astronomy governance arrangements, established by the
Department of Industry and Science in October 2014, has concluded its work
and developed an Options Paper, ‘Positioning to meet future opportunities
in astronomy’. A copy of the paper is attached.
The Options Paper builds on the Discussion Paper released in December 2014
and consultations with the astronomy community in early 2015. Community
input has greatly assisted the working group in its consideration of
potential governance options.
Ms Ann Bray, the General Manager of the Science Agencies Governance branch
in the department, and the members of the working group (listed on page 2
of the paper), welcome your views on the Options Paper and will be happy to
receive written feedback.
Ms Bray will attend the Astronomical Society of Australia Annual Scientific
Meeting including HWWS 2015 on Tuesday 7 July 2015. To make a time to meet
with Ms Bray, please contact Damian Doyle on 02 6276 9180 or
Damian.Doyle at industry.gov.au.
