The 2015 Australian Gemini, Magellan, and Keck Science Symposium

The AAO's International Telescopes Support Office (ITSO) and Astronomy
Australia Limited are pleased to announce the 2015 Australian Gemini,
Magellan, and Keck Science Symposium. Following the first very
successful Australian Gemini and Magellan science symposium in 2012,
ITSO will host a similar event on 21 & 22 May 2015 at the AAO
headquarters in North Ryde, Sydney. This meeting will also feature
Australian science being conducted with the Keck telescopes, in
recognition of the fact that our users at Swinburne University of
Technology as well as at the Australian National University already
enjoy access to these telescopes, as will the entire Australian
community from 2016. Participants will also be introduced to the full
“smorgasbord” of instrumentation they will have access to on Gemini,
Magellan, and Keck from next year, and there will be discussions about
how best to exploit the 40 nights per year of Australian Keck time.

The Symposium will feature invited and contributed talks from leading
Australian users of the Gemini, Magellan, and Keck telescopes and is
open to everyone, not just current users. Students and early-career
researchers in particular are encouraged to attend. There will be no
registration fee, and lunch, morning and afternoon teas will be
provided. To register, please click on the "Registration" tab at:

http://www.aao.gov.au/conference/itso-symposium-2015

The deadline for registration is Friday 8 May 2015.

Note that the Symposium precedes the Southern Cross conference from
24-29 May in Sydney on "Multiwavelength Dissection of Galaxies"
(http://www.aao.gov.au/conference/multiwavelength-dissection-of-galaxies) and
everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in both meetings if
they can.

Please direct any enquiries to ausgo at aao.gov.au.
