Dear colleagues,

The National Committee for Astronomy (NCA) is now inviting applications from Australian astronomers who would like to become new individual members of the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Applicants for IAU membership should generally be professional astronomers with at least three years postdoctoral experience and several publications in refereed journals.

To apply, please fill out the membership application form at:

http://www.iau.org/submissions/membershipapplication/wmrilk8at36o/

The above form may also be used for Australian astronomers who are not members of the IAU but would like an invitation to attend the 2015 IAU General Assembly.

If you are not sure whether you are already an IAU member, please check your membership details in the IAU online directory at:

http://www.iau.org/administration/membership/individual/

More information about the IAU and its activities can be found at http://www.iau.org/about/

** The deadline for applications for IAU membership is 1 December 2014. **

Please note that this invitation is intended for astronomers applying for IAU membership via the NCA, and should not be distributed to others.

Best regards,

Stuart Wyithe
