Follow-on ECR Writing Retreat
The registration deadline is this Friday 7th November for the 4th Australian
Exoplanet Workshop held at USQ on 25 & 26 November 2014 at the USQ
Tooowoomba campus. The workshop brings together researchers working on
exoplanets to give talks, with observational or theoretical perspectives
welcome on any topic related to exoplanet science. Registration is free.
For more details and registration visit the workshop website at:

Please note!
* Limited student travel support remains available on request for students
facing financial hardship - students applying for travel support however
must do so before the registration deadline.
* The Queensland members of the ASA Early Career Researcher chapter will be
holding a free writing retreat 27 & 28 Nov at USQ Toowoomba immediately
following the workshop where ECRs can work on papers and grant
applications, and experience a safe forum for helpful and constructive
feedback. The ECR days are broken into two sessions, pre- and post-lunch,
with the first couple of hours scheduled as writing time, with the final
hour of a session for collaborative review. On the evening of the 27th the
attendees are invited to meet in central Toowoomba for dinner and drinks,
to help build a sense of community, and to strengthen their professional
networks. To register for the ECR retreat please contact Jonathan Horner (
