[ASA] Women in Astronomy 2013 Workshop "Pathways to Success" - Invitation to Register

Dear ASA Members,

The ASA Women in Astronomy Chapter invites you to register for the Women in Astronomy 2013 Workshop "Pathways to Success." The workshop is free and all are welcome to attend irrespective of gender and seniority. A poster with more details is attached.

The workshop will be held on the 11th & 12th of September 2013 in Perth Western Australia and will be hosted by the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR). This is the second announcement of this workshop http://asawomeninastronomy.org/wia-workshop-2013/

The program is shaping up very well with excellent sessions and speakers and will be announced soon.
The workshop includes sessions on:

*         Pathways to Success in Science

*         Pathways to Success in Astronomy

*         Lessons from Industry

*         Pathways to Success in Alternate Careers

*         Panel Discussion on Best Practice for Organizations

*         Professional Development Sessions with the international HAY Group on:

o   Build your Personal Brand and your Personal Advisory Board

o   Build and Lead Effective Teams

o   Emotional Intelligence Assessment Tools

*         Courageous Conversations about gender and race

*         Networking and social interaction opportunities

*         Opportunity to see beautiful Perth bloom in spring!


Do not miss the opportunity to meet and listen to eminent guest speakers from science, astronomy, industry and alternate careers and take part in interactive sessions. There are also opportunities for Early Career Researchers to Chair the sessions!

The workshop is free but it is essential to register to help the Organizing Committee plan for all arrangements.
Please also take this opportunity to meet and interact with ICRAR staff at Curtin and UWA, we'd be happy to find you a space to work if you'd like to stay a little longer.
