Dear ASA Members,
Pathways to Success - Women in Astronomy 2013 Workshop
The Organising Committee of the "Pathways to Success"- Women in Astronomy 2013 Workshop invites you to register for and attend this workshop. The workshop will focus on "Pathways to Success" for women in academic and alternate careers and women's leadership, and all are welcome to attend. It will be held on 11& 12 September 2013 in Perth Western Australia and will be hosted by the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR).
This is the first announcement of this workshop and please see further information on http://asawomeninastronomy.org/wia-workshop-2013/
Information about the WiA 2013 Workshop Sponsors and Program Goals is available on the web. The workshop is free but please do register to help us plan for the logistics, catering and other arrangements.
Eminent guest speakers from academia and industry will address this workshop, and there will be a mix of talks and interactive sessions. More information about the workshop presentations and professional development sessions will soon be available.
This workshop - which provides support, training and mentoring to astronomers, both men and women, is fast becoming a major event in the national astronomy calendar. The WiA Chapter of ASA has already held two very successful workshops and we trust that the third workshop will receive equal if not greater support and enthusiasm from all of you and hope to see you all in Perth in September.
If you would like to co-sponsor this workshop then please do contact me.
The Program is shaping up very well and will soon be announced. Please watch this space and register for the workshop.
