ICRAR SUMMER STUDENTSHIPS

The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research is continuing our successful Summer Studentships Program for 2012.

This year we’re again offering eight student fellowships, including four co-funded by iVEC for projects with computational elements. Projects will be based at either Curtin University or The University of Western Australia and cover a broad range of topics relating to astronomy, astrophysics, databases, engineering, and ICT with many projects having a particular focus on the Square Kilometre Array and related research.

This opportunity is open to 3rd, 4th year and honours level students in physics, astronomy or a relevant engineering/computer science discipline. Successful applicants will join ICRAR for a 10 week period beginning on November 26th, 2012 and ending in mid February, 2013.

Each participant will receive a scholarship of up to $6,000 paid over the 10 weeks. Students from interstate or New Zealand will also receive a return flight to Perth from their home city and accommodation subsidised by up to 50%.

More information and the list of projects is available at www.icrar.org/studentships

Please encourage any interested students to apply. Thank you!
