Postgraduate Scholarship on a Multi-Sensor Platform for Real-Time
Collection of Field Soil Data
A scholarship is available for a PhD project to commence in Feb 2006;
the project is to develop a multi-sensor platform for real-time
collection of field soil data; applicants should hold an honours or
masters degree in areas of soil science - soil chemistry, precision
agriculture or analytical chemistry and have solid scientific and
communication skills; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents
of Australia or NZ citizens; max 3 years; $25,000 pa.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Novel Barrier Product:
synthesis design using controlled radical polymerization in dispersed
systems
Available for a full-time research project leading to a PhD; the project
is to synthesise novel barrier products using controlled radical
polymerization in dispersed systems; applicants should have an Hons 1 or
2A degree in chemistry; $24,388 pa; 3 years; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Invasive Animals Cooperative Research Centre (IA CRC) PhD Scholarships
PhD Scholarships are offered in 2006 for research related to invasive
animal management and control; close to 20 projects on offer; $25,000
pa; up to 4 years rather than the more usual 3 years; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens.

Australian Rotary Health Research Fund
PhD scholarships for research in bowel cancer, prostate cancer, malaria,
motor neuron disease and multiple sclerosis; only applicants commencing
a PhD in 2006 are eligible; must be citizens or permanent residents of
Australia; $25,000 pa plus incidental support funds for a max of 3 yrs.

Cancer Institute NSW Research Scholar Awards
The awards provide additional funding for the scholar's research project
and for travel purposes, to ensure the project is supported at a level
that will allow significant progress; $25,000 p.a. for up to three
years; for applicants who will have secured, or will be seeking a
scholarship from NHMRC or their University or other source; open to any
discipline of research relevant to cancer; applicants must be citizens
or permanent residents of Australia.
