Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Biomedical Engineering

Available for a project to investigate the piezoelectric properties of
biological soft tissues through coupling mechanical deformation and
electric strength; applicants should have a good Hons degree in science
or engineering and a particular interest in biomedical engineering; must
be citizens or permanent residents of Australia; $19,231; funding
available to 31/12/2006 only.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Phase Imaging

Available for full-time research leading to a Masters or PhD; applicants
should have a Hons 1 or 2A or a Master degree in science or engineering;
the project will improve and apply an innovative approach to obtaining
phase information from electron microscopy images; $23,886 pa; up to 3
years; a top-up scholarship is available to an applicant who already
holds an APA or other scholarship.

Jean Gilmore, Thenie Baddams and Daphne Elliott Bursaries 2006 - AFUW

Open to women of academic merit to assist with research towards a
Masters by research or PhD degree; no restriction on the field of study;
applicants must be enrolled at an Australian university and must have
completed 1 year of postgraduate research NOT including an Honours year;
up to $6,000.

2006 Winifred E Preedy Postgraduate Bursary - AFUW

Open to  women doing a Masters or PhD in Dentistry or related field,
past or present students in the Faculty of Dentistry of the University
of Adelaide and must have completed 1 year of their postgraduate degree;
applicants should have a good honours degree; $4,000.

Australian Rotary Health Research Fund PhD Scholarships

PhD scholarships for research in bowel cancer and prostate cancer; only
applicants commencing a PhD in 2006 are eligible; must be citizens or
permanent residents of Australia; $25,000 pa plus incidental support
funds for a max of 3 yrs.
