Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Breaking the Juvenile Crime 
Cycle: Rehabilitating High Risk Young Offenders
Open to candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD, 
applicants should have an Honours 1 or 2A degree or equivalent in an 
appropriate discipline; experience working in the public health area is 
essential; experience of survey design and implementation and knowledge of 
univariate and multivariate statistical methods would be an advantage; 
excellent oral and written communication skills, an excellent undergraduate 
record of achievement, and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary 
team; 3 years @$23,294; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian 
permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Solar Energy Research
Open to applicant with an Honours 1 or 2A degree or equivalent in Physics, 
Chemistry, or Materials Science/Engineering to undertake full-time studies 
leading to a PhD; the project is to investigate the mechanism of silicon 
solar cell passivation in PECVD and to develop an advanced technology to 
provide high quality passivation using a specially designed PECVD method; 
will be based at the School of Physics, USYD; 3 years @ $23,294 pa; 
preferred to start no later than the beginning of next year.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Chromium Dietary Supplements
Open to candidate with a good honours degree or masters degree in Chemistry 
to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Chemistry; the project is 
to investigate the chemistry, biochemistry and cell biology of Cr dietary 
supplements; $18,009 pa, will start immediately and end in 8/05 with a 
possible 6-month extension.

NHMRC Palliative Care Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Full-time PhD scholarships are available in topics directly related to 
palliative care; applicants must have demonstrated potential in palliative 
care related fields; applications will be considered in all relevant health 
related disciplines, including social and behavioural sciences; applicants 
must be Australian citizens who have already completed a degree in an area 
applicable in palliative care research at the time of submission of the 
application; or graduates in areas applicable to palliative care who are 
from overseas, have permanent resident status and are currently residing in 
Australia; max. 3 years; $18,009 pa, $23,239 pa, for nursing and allied 
health professionals, or $26,782 pa for medical or dental.

PhD Studentships within the Brain Dynamics Centre (BDC), Sydney
Top-up funding is available for candidates to pursue research leading to a 
PhD in cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging, biophysical brain modelling 
and their application to neuropsychiatric disorders (schizophrenia, 
post-traumatic stress, attention-deficit); applicants should have a class I 
honours degree or equivalent in physics, psychology, neuroscience or 
related discipline, applicants must hold or expect to hold a scholarship.
