Australian-American Fulbright Commission, Fulbright 2004 Awards
Applications are now invited for the following awards to cover study, 
research or lecturing in the United States: Fulbright Postgraduate Student 
Awards, Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow Award, Fulbright Senior Scholar 
Awards, Fulbright Professional Awards; applicants must be Australian 
citizens; United States/Australian dual citizens or Green Card holders 
resident abroad are ineligible; applicants must be resident in Australia on 
the date applications close; available for interview early October 2003 and 
in Australia when the awards are announced in February 2004; previous US 
experience will not exclude candidates but all else being equal, preference 
will be given to those without previous US academic or professional experience.

Epilepsy Research Scholarships 2004
Open to medical, nursing and allied health professional who have experience 
in the care of people with epilepsy and/or are working in epilepsy research 
at universities, colleges or teaching hospitals in Australia; research 
experience is essential; applicants planning to proceed to postgraduate 
studies (MA, MSc, PhD, MD) in 2004 to undertake epilepsy research are 
encouraged to apply; $35,000 + up to $2,500 travel and conference expenses; 
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Australia-Europe Scholarships 2004
Open to scholars from the designated countries of France, Germany, Italy, 
The Netherlands, Greece, Slovenia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland and 
Switzerland to undertake postgraduate study or research in Australia; for 
ad hoc postgraduate programs that do not lead to the award of an Australian 
degree or other qualification; applicants must have completed an 
undergraduate degree; up to 12 months; benefits include 1 international 
economy class return airfare, domestic travel costs to participate in 
conferences or other research activities, visa and any related medical 
examination costs, enrolment, course and tuition fees, basic health 
insurance costs, a stipend of up to $23,294 pa, a settling allowance of 
$1,941.17, and a materials allowance of $970.58 paid twice a year; 
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the designated 
country and should be physically resident in that country at the time of 
applying.

ABRS Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Open to candidates wishing to undertake full-time PhD in taxonomic research 
on Australian flora and fauna; applicants should have a 1st or Upper 2nd 
class honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline; 3 years @ 
$18,009 pa + research support grant of $2,500 pa; applicants must be 
Australian citizens or those who have been granted permanent residents and 
live in Australia continuously for the 12 months prior to November 2003.

Singing, Sculpture, Architecture, Ballet 2003, 2005, 2007
; 1 year @ 
A$18,000; applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 35; students of 
Ballet must be between the ages of 17 and 35; applicants must be Australia 
born.
