Postgraduate Scholarship in Design Computing
Open to candidate to undertake postgraduate research leading to a PhD in
Design Computing; applicants should have a good honours or a master degree
in architecture, design computing, computer science or engineering; and
have a particular interest in computational models of design and/or design
creativity and have computer programming skills; $18,009 pa and may be
renewed for up to 2 years; possibility of extension for the 3rd year; a
supplementary scholarship valued at $5000 pa is available; applicants must
be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarships in the Psychopharmacology of MDMA ("Ecstasy")
2 scholarships are funded by a NH&MRC project grant and are to support
full-time study leading to a PhD; applicants should have an Honours 1 or
2.1 degree in Psychology, Pharmacology, Anatomy or a related discipline;
experience in behavioural techniques with rodents, pharmacological
techniques (HPLC, quantitative, autoradiography, receptor binding assays)
and/or immunohistochemistry will be well regarded; $20,000 pa and may be
renewed up to 3 years.

Dan David Prize Scholarships 2003
10 scholarships of US$15,000 each are awarded to doctoral students from
universities all over the world. The fields of research for 2003 must be
within one of the three time dimensions: Past: Paleoanthropology, Present:
Print and Electronic Media, Future: Cosmology and Astronomy.

The Reg Waite Award
Open to young Australians to apply for their education and training in
their chosen field with a grant of $7,500; 2 runners-up will receive
smaller grants ($3,500 and $2,000); the main criteria are achievements to
date, with particular application to the community, and the goals and
aspirations in further applying the nominee's education and training
(including the use of this award) towards bettering the future of
Australia; applicants must be below age 25 and must be citizens of Australia.

American Orchid Society Grants
Available for qualified graduate students with appropriate interests in
conservation and preservation of orchids and/or advance the scientific
study of orchids; if justified, their salary may be supported; travel to
collect orchids is not supported; other types of travel may be supported on
a case-by-case basis; support is not restricted to individuals or
institutions within the United States; at present, grants range from
$500-$12,000 and are offered bi-annually
