<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The Centre for the History of Philosophy (CHOP) at the University of Notre Dame Australia, in partnership with the Discipline of Philosophy at the University of Sydney, is excited
to be hosting the second annual CHOP Greek Philosophy Reading Group. This year’s text is Aristotle’s <i>Politics</i>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The group will meet on one Thursday per month, from March to October, from 1-3pm (Sydney time), on UNDA Sydney’s Broadway campus and online. For those attending in person, a catered
lunch will be provided. The meeting and reading schedule is below. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">All participants are welcome, including undergraduates, HDR students, postdocs,<span class="apple-converted-space">
</span>faculty, and members of the public. Participants are welcome to attend as many sessions as they like and do not need to commit to attending for the whole year.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The reading group will involve close study and discussion of the primary text. No prior knowledge of Aristotle or Ancient Greek philosophy is required. We will read the text in
English translation, so no knowledge of Ancient Greek is required either. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The reading group will be co-led by A/Prof David Bronstein (UNDA) and Dr Emily Hulme (USyd). The reading group is taking place in connection with David Bronstein’s ARC Future Fellowship
project ‘Virtue with Aristotle: Recovering an Ancient Ethical Theory for Our Time’.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
