and sense-making. For example, it has been argued that narrative engagement can help navigate and negotiate one’s sense of self in situations of loss, crisis, and transformation. At the same time, work in narratology has considered the conditions and characteristics
of the narrative representation of lived experiences. But what are the possibilities and limitations of self-narration? To what extent is self-narration constrained or even limited by socio-cultural norms, expectations, and practices? The purpose of this conference
is to explore and discuss these questions with leading scholars from philosophy, literary studies, psychology, anthropology, and Egyptology</span>.<o:p></o:p></p>
