<i>Experience, Memory, and Self-Narrative: Interdisciplinary Perspectives</i>, held in the Department of Philosophy at Macquarie University.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The workshop will take place in the Arts Precinct Function Centre (C122, 25 Wally’s Walk, Macquarie University) on 16 and 17 February 2023.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p style="margin:0cm"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Within and across cultures and historical times, self-narratives have played an important role for sharing, understanding, and configuring lived experiences. Research in developmental psychology has shown
that processes of self-narration can structure and shape processes of autobiographical remembering. At the same time, philosophical research indicates that self-narration crucially depends on autobiographical remembering. The negotiation of past experiences,
recent narratological work suggests, is part and parcel of autobiographical writing.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="margin:0cm"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">This workshop brings together leading scholars from philosophy, psychology, literary studies, and anthropology to examine and discuss the many links between experience, memory, and self-narrative. An important
aim is to forge new interdisciplinary connections and identify avenues for future research.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
