Dear Metabolomics Mailing List,

Sciex are offering a training webinar on Thursday at 1pm. It will dovetail perfectly with the new SWATH lipidomics method we have running on Barcombe (one of the 6600s) with the loan very nice ExionLC.

Kind regards,

Ben

We invite you to attend this webinar to learn about LC-MS/MS-based strategies for lipidomics using 2 different LC-MS/MS approaches. The first approach is targeted lipid quantification, which can identify and semi-quantify more than 1,400 lipid species in biological fluids and tissues. The second approach enables the discovery of all lipid species present in a sample, by monitoring lipid modifications due to stimuli. With this approach, lipid profiling based on high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) is used to track the changes in lipid levels and structural modifications in response to treatments or environmental stimuli.

You will gain insight into:

  * Specialized sample preparation techniques for lipid analysis in biofluids, mammalian tissues and plant material
  * Methodologies for targeted lipid analysis using the SCIEX Triple Quad™ 6500+ LC-MS/MS System and the SCIEX Triple Quad™ 7500 LC-MS/MS System - QTRAP® Ready with semi- quantification, using internal standards
  * Methodologies for untargeted lipidomics using the SCIEX X500R QTOF System and the TripleTOF® 6600+ LC-MS/MS System for discovery lipidomics
