The first position is on the link between the evolution of mantle convection, sea level, global landscapes, and
Earth's climate over tens of million years. The second position is to investigate the effects of mantle convection on the magnetic field as the inner core grew, and possible links with the evolution of complex life.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

a PhD at UOW. The research of the successful candidates will be supported by UOW and by external funding from the Australian Research Council. This support includes computer equipment, travel to conferences, and travel to visit research collaborators.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

(e.g. Honours, Masters, MSci) of similarly high quality. For the positions relevant to this advertisement, candidates should demonstrate knowledge of solid Earth processes and quantitative skills, and programming skills (for example, python) are highly desirable.
