of the Science and Engineering Advisory Committee (SEAC) of the SKA Observatory (SKAO).</span></p>

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; color: black;">SEAC is a key independent advisory body to the SKAO Council and the SKAO Director-General. It has up to 21 science and engineering experts from the SKAO’s member countries and beyond.
SEAC members are highly regarded specialists in topics of relevance to the SKAO and are appointed for a term of three years. Professor
</span><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; color: black; background-color: white;">Naomi McClure-Griffiths will be stepping down from her current role on SEAC, therefore the process to find a new Australian member of SEAC has begun.</span></p>

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; color: black;">The Science Advisory Committee of the Australian SKA Coordination Committee (ASCC) has been tasked with drawing up a shortlist of up to three potential candidates for the SEAC role
from the Australian community for consideration by the SKAO Director-General. The SKAO Director-General will make a recommendation to the SKAO Council for their approval based on the overall balance of scientific and technical skills across all of SEAC. While
the new member will be a representative of Australia, they are appointed as an independent expert who does not represent the Member country’s interests. SEAC meets as and when required, but typically three times per year, either in person or on-line. Expenses
associated with travel and accommodation to attend SEAC meetings will be covered by the SKAO.</span></p>
