<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Why this series?<o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Australian astronomy has a strong tradition of leadership in studying galaxies in 3D, from early radio surveys to SKA pathfinders, and more recently, integral field spectroscopic surveys. Australian astronomers
are also increasingly involved in ESO facilities such as MUSE and ALMA. While many survey teams have their own internal science meetings, we have noticed a growing demand—particularly from students and postdocs—for opportunities to share their work with a
broader audience and engage with colleagues across different fields, including both observations and theory. To address this, a group of us from multiple institutions, career stages, and survey teams launched this initiative in 2023 to help strengthen collaborations
across the Australian astronomy community.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
