<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">I write to inform you of two changes to the composition of the ASA Council.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">Ashley Ruiter was unable to continue in her role as Vice President due to personal circumstances. With the Society’s needs in mind, Ashley suggested that a new VP step
 into the role at the earliest opportunity, well in advance of the July 2025 AGM when a new President will be elected. Following Clause 16 in the Constitution, the ASA Council was required to fill a casual vacancy of Vice President by invitation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">I am delighted to announce that Richard McDermid was enthusiastically endorsed by the ASA Council as the new Vice President of our Society commencing the day after Ashley’s
 resignation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">Richard’s elevation to the VP role created a casual vacancy for a general Councillor (the position he held prior to becoming VP). Again in accordance with the Constitution,
 Council has endorsed Claudia Lagos as a new Council member until the 2025 AGM.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">Please join me in welcoming Richard and Claudia to their new roles.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;mso-fareast-language:EN-GB">I would also like to take this opportunity to publicly say a massive thank you to Ashley Ruiter for her leadership and collegiality during her time on Council. I think
