Postdoctoral research position: Low-frequency surveys with the Murchison Widefield Array

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate / fellow to process and deliver science from a low-frequency survey undertaken with the Murchison Widefield Array. The position is based at the Curtin Institute of Radio Astronomy, a node of the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, in Perth, Western Australia. The researcher will work with project leader Dr Natasha Hurley-Walker and other MWA science experts at CIRA to continue processing and publishing the GaLactic and Extragalactic All-sky MWA – eXtended (GLEAM-X) survey. This builds on the success of the original GLEAM survey and will be the widest-bandwidth low-frequency survey of the southern sky to date, producing wide-area images in both continuum and polarisation.

We seek a candidate with excellent skills in supercomputing, the organisational capacity to undertake a large survey, and the ability to deliver science results therefrom. We will offer the three-year fixed-term position at Academic Level A or B commensurate with the candidate's skill and experience. Applications close 2nd July.
