<p style="margin: 0.25em 0em; padding: 0.25em 0em; line-height: 1.3em">Applications are invited for a 2-year ASTRO 3D Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The appointee will conduct research within the Galaxy Evolution Project of<span> </span><a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/8SqxC5QPXJilkG26UOIhSx?domain=astro3d.org.au/" style="margin: 0px; color: rgb(3, 47, 125)">ASTRO
3D</a>, in collaboration with Prof. Karl Glazebrook and A/Prof. Glenn Kacprzak, involving observational studies of the high-redshift universe using a new large sample of lensed galaxies observed with optical/near-IR telescopes. Specific research outcomes arising
from this appointment include the observation, analysis and publication of a large dataset from Keck and European Southern Observatory spectroscopic observations of high-redshift galaxy lenses, including the intergalactic/circumgalactic medium and resolved
galaxy metallicities/kinematics.</p>
<p style="margin: 0.25em 0em; padding: 0.25em 0em; line-height: 1.3em">Measuring the evolution of metals and galaxy mass assembly across the history of the Universe is a key outcome for ASTRO 3D. The appointee will be supported in their career development and
encouraged to conduct independent research and work collaboratively within the ASTRO 3D Galaxy Evolution Project, including with distinguished international collaborators.</p>
<p style="margin: 0.25em 0em; padding: 0.25em 0em; line-height: 1.3em">This appointment is for 24 months Full Time Equivalent. The appointee will report to Prof. Glazebrook and A/Prof. Kacprzak. The Academic Level of the appointment (A or B) will depend on
the years of postdoctoral experience, all are encouraged to apply. ASTRO 3D supports a flexible working environment.</p>

<p style="margin: 0.25em 0em; padding: 0.25em 0em; line-height: 1.3em">To be successful in this role you will require a PhD in observational astrophysics, with research interests and experience in high redshift galaxy or intergalactic/circumgalactic medium
observations using large optical/near-IR telescopes. Demonstrable research skills are essential, as evidenced by peer-reviewed journal publications. The successful applicant will have experience with high redshift galaxy evolution with a focus on intergalactic/circumgalactic
medium astrophysics, galaxy kinematics or galaxy metallicity.</p>
