[ASA] gSTAR Data Science Tutorial - Introduction to Linux Command-Line Interface - Beginner Level

Dear all,

The gSTAR Data Science Tutorial Series aims to provide researchers with a range of High-Performance Computing, e-Research, and coding skills. These tutorials are free and open to any Australian-based researcher.


The third tutorial of this series will be:

Introduction to Linux Command-Line Interface
Wednesday 1st June 2016 – 1PM to 2:30 PM (ADST)

We will broadcast this tutorial via GoToMeeting. Access information will be provided for registered users closer to the time of the tutorial.

Topics to be covered:

  *   Basic Navigation and File Handling
  *   Filters
  *   Piping and Redirection
  *   Process Management
  *   Basic Shell Scripting

This session is for beginners and designed for users with limited or no Linux experience. Please bring your laptop (with eduroam wifi enabled).  Access to Linux environment during the tutorial is recommended (VirtualBox or Docker).
