Hi John,

Would you be able to send around the following notice to the ASA email
exploder?

Many thanks,

Lee

High-quality undergraduates are invited to apply for a PhD scholarship at
Macquarie University’s Astronomy, Astrophysics and Astrophotonics Research
Centre (MQAAAstro) in Sydney, Australia.

MQAAAstro is one of the largest and fastest growing astronomical centres of
research in Australia. With 8 astronomy staff, 11 postdocs and 25
postgraduate students, its PhD students are exposed to a broad range of
observational and theoretical astrophysics.

Located in Sydney, Macquarie University is in close proximity to the
national optical/infrared and radio observatories: Australian Astronomical
Observatory (http://www.aao.gov.au/) and CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (
http://www.csiro.au/org/CASS). Joint PhD research and instrumentation
projects are available with the experts at these observatories.

PhD scholarships include full tuition and an annual tax-exempt stipend of
$24,653AUD for 3.5 years. A generous research budget is provided to each
student.

Interested students are invited to browse the PhD projects listed here:

Potential students are encouraged to contact the relevant faculty member
for more details. Any questions about the program or applying can be
directed to Dr. Lee Spitler (lee.spitler @ mq.edu.au).
