The School of Physics at the University of Melbourne invites applications for 2 continuing positions within its Astrophysics group. These are offered at the levels of Lecturer (level B) and Senior Lecturer (level C). Preference will be given to applicants with research interests in theoretical cosmology and galaxy formation, however the positions are open to researchers in all areas of extragalactic astrophysics.
The School of Physics comprises some 23 academic staff, 50 research-only staff, and more than 95 postgraduate students. The School has six research groups including Astrophysics, Theoretical Particle Physics and Experimental Particle Physics, and hosts a node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for All-Sky Astrophysics (CAASTRO), providing a vibrant collaborative environment. The Astrophysics group currently undertakes a broad range of theoretical, observational and computational research programs in topics including cosmology, galaxy formation, gravitational lensing, and relativistic and particle astrophysics.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact Professor Stuart Wyithe with any requests for additional information. Applications should be submitted through the University of Melbourne web site at http://jobs.unimelb.edu.au (position numbers 0029784 and 0029785) prior to the 30th November. These should address the selection criteria, and must include a CV, list of publications, Statement of Research Interests, and the names of three referees.
